6 Ways to Step Outside Your Comfort Zone

From a young age, I had dreams and goals I wanted to reach as do we all. However, if you and I succumb to the idea of staying in our comfort zone, those dreams and goals will remain just that.

As Neale, Donald says, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

Comfort zone is characterized by procrastination, fear, and anxiety. These characteristics hold you back from venturing into the unknown.

For the longest time, I wanted to start exercising and eat healthily, but procrastination has kept in the comfort zone. A few months ago, we went on a hike, and I realized that I tired easily. Since that day, I resolved to take slow steps into fitness by exercising and eating healthy.

Stepping out of the comfort zone is not like snapping of a finger. The process is full of challenges, fears, anxiety, and doubts and not forgetting back sliding. For you to succeed at anything, you have to be willing to try, fail, and try again and again until it becomes your new normal.

Cambridge dictionary defines comfort zone as a situation where you do not have to try out anything new or challenging. It is a situation where you feel comfortable since your abilities are neither tried nor tested.
